Catalina Carrasco (Palma de Mallorca, 1976) is an awarded dancer, choreographer & performer.<\/p>\n

Catalina studied classical and contemporary dance in Madrid, London, Barcelona and Reykjavik. She graduated in contemporary dance at the University Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez. She approached Butoh, Performance, the German dance theatre, without forgetting the contemporary techniques.<\/p>\n

She has worked in Spain with Mariant\u00f2nia Oliver, Auments y Merc\u00e8 Boronat, in Germany with the Hybrida project (Radial System, Sasha Waltz) and F.A.C.E. Szab\u00f3, in Chile with Torres Rojas. She has been awarded twice as best dancer (Esc\u00e8nica & Art Jove).<\/p>\n

The starting point of her work is motion research. Searching for the essential and for the transformation of the own body. Her creations are very sincere and rarely leave the spectator untouched. She has been awarded several times on her own, but also collaborating with other artists. She has performed all around Europe, Middle East, South America and Asia.<\/p>\n

Awarded at Salt, Art Jove, Encuentros, Burgos\/New York, Rei Jaume I, Teatre Principal new creators and recently at CENIT for TRAVELLING TO NOWHERE<\/em>, a latest creation in cooperation with Gaspar Morey, she is touring with Gaspar in Spain, Europe and Latin America. Research and non-conformism, technology and involving the audience are characteristic for their collaboration.<\/p>\n
